Welcome to Trinity Baptist Church. The purpose of Trinity Baptist is to make and mature disciples of Jesus Christ. In accomplishing our purpose, we strive to follow the Biblical principles of Living, Growing, and Serving.
We accomplish the principle of Living by connecting within the church. We seek to be a body of believers that makes much of our God. In Mark 12:30, Jesus said “The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” We want to be a community of believers which is engaged foremost in worshiping God. In making much of God, we want to live in such a way as to give the right view of God (I Cor. 10:31, Col. 3:17). This is accomplished by having an environment where believers can connect with each other as is described in Hebrews 10:24-25. An environment where we encourage one another in our faith and living out that faith.
We accomplish the principle of Growing by maturing in Christ together. We seek to be a body of believers that fosters the transformation of each believer into the image of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13 lays out the process by which this transformation takes place. The church is to be a place where believers are equipped to do the work of the ministry. Paul states the goal of the ministry’s work is to grow all believers to the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The goal is to be like Christ.
The tool we use at Trinity Baptist to accomplish this equipping and growth is Scripture. Hebrews 4:12 gives the picture of Scripture as a “living and active” tool in transforming us into Christ’s image.
II Timothy 2:2 and Ephesians 4:15-16 present the idea that our spiritual growth is an organic growth happening from within the church as believers disciple each other.
We accomplish the principle of Serving by ministering to the needs of others. We seek to be a body of believers that is serving each other and the lost world around us. I Peter 4:10 speaks of using our God given giftedness to serve one another. II Corinthians 13:5 and Hebrews 10:24 tell us that within the church as we are living and growing we are to be exhorting each other to good works. We as believers are to engage in loving relationships of accountability and service.
We also seek to serve the lost world around us. Matthew 28:18-20 lays out the command to each believer to be making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ. We are called to live out a life of obedience as the means for reaching a lost world. Our goal is to see each believer engaging the sphere of influence given to them with the Gospel.
